Summer in the northern hemisphere's mountains means festivals and events. Here are six of some of the most interesting happening in July and August.
I've tried to pick some from across the hemisphere, if there's any I should have included then let me know in the forum!
16 July to 3 August
Verbier, Switzerland
With venues ranging from a cute chapel to a 1,407-seat auditorium, this music festival has a packed programme. There's even an outdoor stage for you to enjoy the music against a dramatic backgrop provided by the Alps.
9 August
Mammoth Mountain, California, USA
Running from 17:30 to 20:30 this sunset-celebration involves live music, food and drink. Soak up the fun atmosphere from the very top of Mammoth Mountain (gondola rides included in the ticket price!)
10 to 16 August
Karba meadow, Qiangtang Highland, Tibet
Over seven days young men take part in various horse racing events on this 4,300m-high mountain meadow. There are also archery contests, as well as singing and dancing.
2 to 4 August
Canmore, Alberta, Canada
Established in 1978, this outdoor music festival draws in almost 20,000 people and features a range of folk, bluegrass, blues, gospel, roots, and Celtic performers.
25 to 27 July
Nendaz, Switzerland
Over 150 players congregate in this Valais town to toot their oversized horns. This is a serious competition, with musicians playing outside a tent full of jurors who decide the winning horn...er.
21 to 25 July
Aussois, France
The theme of this year's festival is 'water'. There will be talks by glaciologists, creative and sensory workshops, circus performances, concerts and hikes.
